Has anyone here eloped? Who did you have at the ceremony? Did your friends/family that weren’t there get upset that they weren’t there? What did you do for it? Pros and cons on eloping? Thinking about eloping?!?!

Yep. Hubby and I eloped to Vegas 20 years ago. We weren’t even engaged when we took a trip to the USA and decided just a few days before we left that we should get married while we were there. No one knew until we had a bottle of champagne delivered to our family members a few hours before the ceremony. We have no regrets.
My sister eloped. Yes, it impacted on my relationship with her. She doesn't realise this because I've never felt that I can voice how hurt I was. I felt betrayed and it has affected my view of how she values our relationship though. The thing is, you will definitely hurt people... but very few would ever let you know that is the case.
If I ever get married I plan on eloping.
My mum and dad hate each other, I also have a bit of a difficult relationship with both of them. I guarantee I'd end up with a couple of relatives who never bother with me any other time cracking the shits because they werent invited. I'd be pressured into having children there even though I'd prefer to have a child free event.
So basically, I can't be bothered with the drama. If my family could act right I may throw a traditional wedding but that's not going to happen.
