Here is the post
Hoping to get other parents experiences.
I have a daughter who is in grade 4. So 10 at the beginning of next year. She has ASD level 2 and at times level 3 (psychologist said as she is verbal she won’t meet criteria for 3 but does go mute at times), ADHD, pathological demand avoidance, generalised anxiety, sensory processing and separation anxiety.
We are having extreme difficulty lately and they think there maybe other issues going on however she is too young for some diagnosis at this stage.
School is a massive trigger for her. To the point it sends her into a massive rage/meltdown/outburst at the mention of it.
She is extremely bright but failing in some aspects of her schooling. However when I’ve done things with her I see just how bright she actually is.
She’s not eating well. She’s not wanting to go to extra curricular things she absolutely loves and chose to do. She doesn’t want to do anything.
She currently has been prescribed a PRN medication for extreme days and only use as needed. This has been used every day since prescribed (only very very new as in script given Tuesday this week and we’ve used everyday so far) some days have been more than once with the max being twice per day.
We are at a private school and to be fair they have been amazing however I’m not sure where to from here and also need to consider high schools.
When she is stable in herself she does amazing in main stream schooling. Sending her to a special school would definitely make things worse for her and this has already been thrown around in discussions. When she is bad however things do not go well.
We have a huge list of professionals involved and waiting on a psychiatrist appointment which Will be in the next 1-2 months.
We have OT, psychology weekly. We have done speech previously. We have a behavioural therapist. We have a regular paediatrician. After an ambulance was called twice in one day she was referred to the children youth and mental health however I’m already doing everything so they said there really isn’t anything except waiting to see a psychiatrist (which I have to pay for) We have support workers with limited hours. Doing a COC with NDIS. We have support co ordinators. The list seems to be endless and I’m sure I’m missing someone from this list.
Can anyone tell me what they have done in a similar situation? What helped? What worked?
we have tried all adhd meds, respiridone, intuniv, fluoxetine and I’m sure there is a couple more im forgetting.

Mum to 28 year old with a list of diagnosis. You are doing everything. You are doing a great job.
Your kid is having a tough time and that sucks, for you and them. You are going to need some therapy for yourself to help you through this.
tween to mid to late teens was really tough for my son. It was hard. We did all the things to support him through that but it was still tough for him and us.
Be careful about taking advice from internet Mums. None of us know your kid, none of us have seen the behaviour data etc.
What can be good to take away from other parents is that you aren’t alone, so if you can find a good private Facebook support group that can be helpful. You might have to try a few to find the one that right for you.
I have a friend who's child struggled with the public system with similar issues. She placed him in a much smaller private school and he is absolutely thriving. I cannot give you other advice but maybe there's an environment less distressing for her
