Self doubt

Ok so I'm 38, 3 little kids 4,2,1. I have just been accepted into uni to studying Bach of early childhood to become a kindergarten teacher however I am now doubting my ability. It's going to be full on and I'm not sure I can do it. I've always dreamed of being a teacher since I was 4 and have worked in childcare on and off since 2015. I'm genuinely scared that I'm going to fail. I have the support of my dad and don't want to let him down. I've been so stressed that I'm snappy, emotional and irritable. Can I do this? Anyone been in this predicament? Thank you.

Let it all go and just go for it… don’t think so much into it. Take it as it comes. Believe in yourself and if it all gets too hard, it’s ok you can change paths and do what ever you want. You are very lucky to have support and you can do this else you wouldn’t have been accept. Better of trying than not at all. You never know unless you try. You may love it and thrive or think this isn’t for me anymore. You never know until you give it a go.! Go Mumma, you got this!! 💪🏼

I started studying again at 32 when my third was 8 months old. I’m part time and I’ve had 2 more kids since but I LOVE it. I love learning and using my brain, I love the field I’m studying in and I enjoy having something outside the bubble of having little kids. Organisation is key. Do a little bit every day rather than leaving it all to the last minute. Access all of the help you can. I also recommend open communication with course coordinators, in my experience they have been nothing but helpful when I’ve had struggles. Good luck!

Teaching is quite a basic degree. The hard work is in the pracs, the time management, the workload (exactly the same on the job). So spread it out, be persistent and you will get there.
