Mental Health- how to help adult children?

How do we help our adult children that have anxiety?
My adult child lives interstate and works in a high paced environment , he is capable of doing the work but his anxiety is causing him lots of problems. He is seeing a psychologist privately and his employer has also recommended that he sees one to find out where he is best suited to be in his workplace.
Also as a parent how do we stop worrying about them? And how can we help? We message most days and talk once a fortnight or so.

Anxiety medication does wonders. It’s helped me as an adult. Listen to him, be there for him, understand him. It’s real fear and the kind is so powerful. Maybe speak once every 3-4 days. I’ve had anxiety all my life. My son has it, so I know how to understand him and what words to use. It makes it easier because I can feel it with him. I use the words that I would want to hear if I was anxious.

Could a change of jobs help him? I think a job change, medication and psychologist. I got myself into kickboxing when my anxiety was at its worst. It helped relieve some nervous anxious energy. I also walk and walk when I am anxious and that helps.

Can you visit him regularly? Call beyond blue for some advice. They can offer you Some helpful tips of things to say to him, to show him you understand.

I don’t care what anyone thinks, medication is the best thing to help with this, along with professional help.
