Please don’t judge me. I have been in a calorie deficit for months now, and I’m working out 2 hours per day every day. I have not lost a single cm. I’m in the very obese part. I have fasted, dieted, exercised, you name it I’ve tried it. Can’t lose any weight at all. It’s beginning to get me quite depressed. Would a doctor prescribe me ozempic or something? I don’t know what else I can do? I’m at a loss.

I am under testing for Diabetes, Doctor told me they would not prescribe Ozempic because it is impossible to get.
I am on metformin. Have lost 15 or more kgs, not hugely over weight. But honestly it is not a pleasant way to loose weight.
I might have to go on this, why is it unpleasant? Thanks.
It is constant diarrhoea. It eradicates sugar/carbs/fat.
At first it sheds what ever is in body.
I work from home, so that was ok for me, but could not be out or away from a toilet for more than an hour.
Its been nearly a year and only get side effects if I eat something I shouldn’t
My sugar levels were crazy high so they need lowering. I am only 66kgs.
If I didn’t have to be on it I wouldn’t.
It isn’t fun, the pancreatic pain is nothing I have ever experienced.
Once it all settled and I now have a new aversion to anything that will cause the side effects.
oh okay, i WFH as well and weigh around the same.
i've been stressed and not eating, so whenever i eat a proper meal, i get diarrhoea, sounds similar.
thanks for the info x
Keep it simple. Let go of the expectations and just tell yourself what will be will be. Keep eating healthy, exercising etc, but not for 2 hours a day you’ll put your body into high stress levels and when that stress hormone is released it can actually cause you to gain weight or stay where you are. Doing weights is proven to help you shed weight, it’s the cardio that can cause the stress hormone to over take. Work out 5 days a week an hour a day, break it up with a walk but definitely give yourself some time to repair. Losing weight takes time, let go of the expectation you put on yourself and just make sure you show up for yourself everyday, keep it calm and don’t over do it, keep that stress hormone away as much as you can. And remember it takes time.
I was prescribed ozempic last week. It's not that hard to get. I literally went to the chemist beside the doctor, no need to call around to find stock. I've lost 3.5kg.
NB I wasn't prescribed for weight loss, but if you are obese you are eligible for a prescription too. Talk to your doctor
Depends on the Dr as to whether they'll prescribe it to you. The TGA have asked Drs not to start people on it because of the shortage. Some pharmacists are also not dispensing to non diabetics, so those issues are something to think about. I've been on Ozempic for weight control for quite a few years and it's worked really well for me.
Im not sure where you are located but i went to the dr and they gave me a prescription that day.
I have tried duromine twice in the past and while it did work well for losing weight the first time i did it. I lost 15kg, after stopping it all went straight back on again. The second time i did it, i could only take it before having to stop because how it was affecting my mental state., if you have any mental conditions, depression, anxiety ect. It can make it much worse. To the point of paranoia and suicidal thoughts.
I have now been on ozempic for 8 weeks. I have lost 5kg and i feel like absolute crap. Nausea all the time, anytime i eat anything i feel like im going to vomit, headaches which went away after 2 weeks. And body aches. Im almost thinking is it worth it. I still need to lose about 10 more kg to get back to my ideal weight.
Talk to the dr and see what they recommend. Losing weight is not easy and while taking meds to help might work, once you come off them you often end up putting it all back on.
Good luck with your journey.
And what happens when you stop this too? Weight comes right back again?
Have you tried the fat loss protocol? It’s 6weeks of specific food it’s very strict but science based. and you take homopathic drops, low impact walking exercise. You may need to do a few rounds if you have a lot to lose but it works. It teaches you about food aswell. There’s a phase at the end which allows you to introduce new foods slowly and help you pin point what your body doesn’t handle. Whether that’s dairy, some whole foods, certain veg or fruit. Generally most people lose 10kg, I lost 12, some as much as 20kg in the first round especially if you’re in the obese category. And like others have said Ozempic can be difficult to get at the moment
Lookup the Why Clinic…they are based in Brisbane but all done via Telehealth so have patients all over Australia…they are nurse practitioners and absolutely fabulous, I’ve lost nearly 20kg on an ozempic alternative…the prescription can be a little pricey though
