BACK OFF mother in laws!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just back the f*ck off, unless you are specifically asked to help!! Nothing worse than a controlling, over bearing, narcissistic, mother in law butting in thinking she can do everything better and have a better relationship with OUR children!!! You had your time! Unless you are asked to help, just GO AWAY!

I'm a mother in law. And I'm nothing like what you describe. So how about taking the word 'all' out of it. We are not 'all' controlling, overbearing and narcissistic like yours is.
I'm not a mother in law and I found this post aggressive too.
God. This person obviously isn't talking about every single mother in law in the world, if this behaviour doesn't apply to you then this post is not directed at you!
You don't have to take someone's vent so personally and let's be honest, a painful number of mother in laws do fit this bill...
Yes exactly! Thankyou
I guess my point was that if she's this aggressive, the problem might not be one sided
I wouldn't say aggressive but provoked. If the poster was aggressive in real life she probably wouldn't be here venting anonymously, she would be happy to confront the MIL on her behaviour. When you are putting up with controlling behaviour and constantly being put down it eventually takes its toll and the stress that keeps getting held down needs to come out. It's not aggressive it's called had enough. It's not healthy to deal with conflict this way either, a middle line between aggressive and holding it all in is the better way to deal with an overbearing MIL.
'Obviously isnt talking about every single mother in law'
But uses the word ALL in her rant.
Did you miss that part? Read her raging rant again.
It's now been amended. She's removed the word - all -.
I think some women get jealous when their kids move on and they have to diminish the new partner to make themselves feel better! My ex mil was terrible. I don't even think I'm believed when I tell people stories about what she used to do because it was so out there like days of our lives lol. I get what you're saying even without the details. Everyone needs to learn to stay in their lane and mind their own business unless you have genuine concerns.
Some of us have beautiful MILs and some of us would give anything to have those MILs or mothers back after they have passed. I do not find anything wrong with talking about yours specifically but I dislike the "all" used in your post.
