I want to apply to be a teacher aide at a couple of schools but no position advertised. Just on a whim that I might get lucky and be needing someone. Who should I send my resume to? Office ladies or principal? I’m not sure. Thanks

You can apply for volunteer positions. Most state education paid positions legally need to be advertised though.
Census is in around 2 months (in Vic anyway) after this time is when support staff vacancies usually arise, once they know what funding they will receive.

Independent and catholic schools accept direct applications. Usually through their regular admin email. Don’t forget to write a cover letter outlining why you would be the best fit for that particular school, ensure your skills and values align with what they’re trying to achieve.
My 21yr old daughter volunteered at a local school for a bit and was then made casual. She just covered a 3week block whilst someone was on leave. She has 3days a week, more if needed but she is on standby for those 2 days. She is really enjoying it. Good luck
