So I moved to this area a year ago, and still havent made very many connections or friends, and i decided to start up my own cleaning business, have had a few jobs so far, and the clients were extremely happy, but i really want to increase the jobs coming in so i decided to start with having a business account on google, truelocal and a couple other free directories, ive designed a basic website through wix, and tried to do all the SEO instructions but im still not coming up in search engines :( I really dont know what im doing with web design or promoting or marketing myself/business? and i reallly suck with wording things and obviously dont have the money to pay for marketing or advertising. Was wondering if anyone with this kind of experience could give me some pointers or constructive criticism on my website or of what i could change or add?
(Not sure if im allowed to post this but feel free to delete if im not allowed)

Have a little patience. With Google you need to have a live website for a long time for it to come up earlier in the searches. That is just one of their rules, the longer a website is live the better
A few other things that you need are external links. So websites where they find a link to you. Maybe search some other local businesses, nanny services, lawn mowing, handymen and see if you can put their link on your page in return for them putting a link on theirs. This should help a lot.
There are heaps more rules for Google, and they change every day. Dont rely on it when just starting out. Getting traffic through other means is more effective anyway.
Put a flyer in neighbours letterboxes and say 'go to the website for pricing' etc. maybe put one or two services on the flyer to show your price range.
Find buy/swap/sell or community pages on facebook and put your link there.
Hope this helps, and good luck
I think you have to notify google of your web page for it to show up in search results? (google it!). They need key words etc. Good luck! http://www.google.com.au/submityourcontent/business-owner/
