preventing miscarriage.

preventing miscarriage.

I'm currently pregnant and just wondering if anyone on here who has had multiple miscarriages / still births had any advice / changes they made that they feel was the difference between another loss and that beautiful baby making it into our world ?

No smoking no drinking.

I have had 8 miscarriages. 2 baby's.
The thing I swear by was aspirin. All my losses had no medical explanation they could find and dr started me on aspirin as a preventative in case it was a blood clotting issue. Maybe ask your dr about that.
Good luck!!

How much aspirin did you take? My doctor has mentioned it but as I have 3 a midwife a gp and a obs/gyno they are arguing over the pros and cons.

I was taking 1 low dose tablet a day ( Cartia brand baby aspirin )
It's so hard when your Drs don't agree isn't it! I would ask the Drs that don't agree what the risk is if you try it? I had my gp and fertility dr saying I should take it and then midwife and ob saying not to. When it came down to it and I questioned them they couldn't give me a good reason not to try it just that they didn't think I needed it but no research or evidence backing that there would be any harm to baby so at the end of the day I had nothing to lose by trying it and instead gained my 2 baby's.
This may not be the solution for everyone and I did lose 1 baby while taking aspirin but there were other probs that caused that miscarriage ( highly stressful time with multiple family deaths )
It can't hurt to ask the questions and try. Everything crossed for you that this works and baby is a keeper. I understand your feelings completely and wouldn't wish the pain of losses on anyone :-( good luck!!!

From a chinese tradition, parents and grandparents have suggested to eat less or no cold foods (eg. ice cream, persimmons, watermelon, cucumbers, green mung bean, aloe vera, crabs etc..). These cold foods make the body cold so miscarriage is at higher chance. You can google it for a list of foods that are considered cold. Eat more neutral and warm foods. Putting ginger slices in soups or ginger powder when cooking veggies is also good to help release cold wind out of the body. Not from personal experience, just some tradition that may help. Good luck!
