Tmi. Periods..

When did you...? Tmi post

I know everyone is different but when do you get your period back? I stopped breast feedin two weeks ago and was wondering roughly when I might get them back? And... Are they likely to be extremely awful/heavy/ uncomfortable?

I got my period while I was breast feeding.

With my first I got my period back after around 7 months. I was still breastfeeding, and I think it started out fairly light and then went back to being fairly similar to before baby.
Second baby it came back after a year, and went straight into normal period. I'm still breastfeeding this time too.
I think it's different for everyone :-)

With my first it came back within a month, while breastfeeding. I was previously so regular you could set a clock to it (came in the same 2 hr window every 4 weeks). After my first it became irregular but the flow was the same.
After my second I was even more irregular and also had massive issues with the flow. It came back after about 5 mths and I was still breastfeeding.

Recently returned whilst still breastfeeding (just past two years old). First one was a little lighter than previously. Second is past the length it used to be, but hasn't arrived yet. Apparently can be rather sparodic initially.

My period came back at the 3 month mark (I was Still BF'ing), it was as heavy as post birth and lasted 2 weeks with cramping. The only downside of BF'ing is the inability to take worthwhile medicine.
