Endometriosis - full hysterectomy

hi ladies
I am currently pregnant with my 3 child and 27 yes old. We only want 3 kids and I had said after our 3rd I would get a full hysterectomy due to my endo and the pain I go through every month. Plus the extra stuff that is taking over my life.

Has anyone done a full hysterectomy before at this age and the docs allow it? They obviously have my full history and I am done with having kids and a legit reason.

Do you need to be on hormone therapy for the rest of your life?

Any info would be helpful.

It may not be possible or very dangerous to get a hysterectomy. The gynaecologist would need to see how far the scarring has gone. If the uterus has attached itself to other areas then it can be impossible to remove. So you are best to get medical advice, before making any plans. Obviously doctors don't like removing body parts, because they can't be put back in and people do change there minds. If you had a partial hysterectomy (left the ovaries) you would not need hormone replacement therapy.

Hi! My total hysty was my 13th surgery and I now need my 24th surgery. Unfortunately, many believe a hysty will cure or help endo. It doesn't! Your best form of treatment is to have excision surgery by a endo/excision specialist.

A hysterectomy will not necessarily get rid of your endo. I had a laproscopy 2 days ago to remove endometriosis and a cyst that had stuck my ovary to my bowel. The pain is not as bad today and I am hoping that it doesn't come back but with endometriosis you never know. Its not a nice disease to have. Please get yourself to a good gyno. A hysterectomy is a major deal. I know how awful it is but I just want to stress to you that there are other treatments you can try before jumping into a hysterectomy. Good luck
