Hey IM's (and Dads!)
I'm bored!! I love my kids and they keep me active but I'm craving something to do when they are napping, at school or in bed for the night! I have the greater desire to do something other than housework! lol
I've been researching different avenues of work from home/party plans (I have studied certificates within business & Admin - but its basic stuff and probably all needs to be updated again!) so we can instantly rule out any sort of temping work as I'm pretty sure I'm not qualified enough.
I've thought about studying but that's not going to help my family financially over the next year or 2.. I'm in SA and seriously, finding a job, that is flexible to school hours with zero experience is like finding a $50 note on the street! Not impossible but so bloody rare... especially when employers are seeking experience.
The last job I had - 3 years ago - I absolutely loved it! I went from being lucky to get it with no experience.. to being the store manager within 6 months! I held that management position for just over 2 years and only left as the business closed and I fell pregnant.
I have mindset and determination! I have so many friends doing scentsy, nutrimetics, Tupperware etc.... I don't want to do those.. I see they are doing well enough, they're having fun doing it.. I know they aren't earning heaps - I'm not greedy, I'm not expecting instant pay or earning $1000's month! I'm willing to work and commit. I just want to have fun too! I danced while I mopped the floor today.. didn't get paid for it but my 14month old DS thought it was hilarious when I almost went arse up! There has to be more for me out there?! But what?!
I'm eager to build something that I could potentially take to markets or to school fete's or have the little get to-gethers and socialise more.. something that can be started at home and let it grow as high as I want to take it...
Hit me with what your doing! Tell me everything - even how you balance the work and family life - how many hours are you actually putting in, tax time, up front costs..

you are fine for temping, trust me on that, call a temping agencies and give them your details...
as for at home work. ask yourself, "What do you love doing?"
Potter, play around with stuff, literally get your hands dirty, it is the only way you will figure it out.
what I do?
I don't do it for money, I am on disability, my body wouldn't allow me to do it enough to make a wage, I do it because I enjoy keeping my skills exercised.
Crochet Amigurumi and stuffed toys and decorations, I don't stick with one thing, whatever takes my fancy and if someone likes it they buy it which buys me more wool or I give it to them.
I repair computers, clean them up,
do a little tech consulting, someone comes to me with a question and I spend a few days digging up the options play around with them and let them know which options are best suited to their needs.
I help with resume's tax returns book keeping desktop publishing.
I help plan craft activities for lunchtimes at the high school, the children's church to fit in with their theme's each week, and the craft for an annual holiday program.
do some web design and construction.
I am also compiling a large File System of Multimedia and document library for the children's church incorporating the lesson plans of a 3 yearly cycle, structure off the stories of the bible and life biblical lessons
oh and alot of what I do, is teach other mums and elderly old ladies who want to learn how, how to do the stuff I do. its fun we sit down have some coffee and cake, to start with I walk them through a few days a week for a few weeks, then about once a week or every two weeks they bring me questions about challenges or things they want to do but haven't figured out, or what something is that they have come across and how to use it.
I do a bit of everything. it keeps me busy.
TBH even if I wanted to I don't think I could stop the phone calls once the secret is out you can't stop them.
I am a bitch in some regards. because my services are free, when it comes to web design and constructing sites, I don't make maintenance agreements and shit....I work closely with the individual/business to determine what they need, but I also absolutely INSIST that they learn to use and alter/customise the product they are being provided with.
calling me for catastrophic failures a year later is one thing if you can't figure out how to structure your parent child products at that point pay a company full rate to manage the whole thing for you.
I'm a massage therapist working from home! I absolutely love what I do, the satisfaction of releasing pain for my clients is amazing! Plus my youngest is home with me too, my clients are always happy to have him stick his head in and say hi haha!
