Hi there,
I have a quick question relating to breastfeeding and expressing.
This is my 3rd child, a beautiful big boy who is 11 weeks old and a whopping 6kg! I'm thinking of returning to work one night a week - from about 5 - 11pm. My employer is very flexible with times and will allow me time to express.
However I'm wondering what is the best time to express during the day to prepare for when I'm at work for my husband to put him bed?
Should I express after he goes to bed at night?
He typically goes down around 7-7:30pm for a good 5-6 hour stretch. Should I try then around 9:30pm? We tried giving him the first overnight feed with EBM the other night and he just played with teet ? I'm spewing as he took a bottle earlier on and I, worried he's going to be a lot harder than my girls to bottle feed, even with my breast milk?
How do I get him to take the bottle from hubby for bedtime feed? Please help!
I'm also going to start exercising a few times a week - gently easing my way into it, what are your thoughts on using fenugreek?
Thanks so much

I used to work one night a week from when my son was a few weeks old. I started by expressing little bits at the end of each feed before I went back to work, but once I started work I expressed just after a feed was due. I could usually express, while on my break, which was a bit after the usual feed so I was ready to burst.
Taking the bottle can take some persistence but if hubby gets caught out he can always use a syringe, which is how my son fed for the first 4 days of life anyway.
Best time to express is either when your baby would normally have a feed, or during the night. Your body produces more milk when you're sleeping, or so my midwife told me.
I ended up having problems with my supply and used 'Motilium' (doctor prescribed medication) to boost it. I also used red raspberry leaf tablets (during pregnancy and breastfeeding ) and I swear by it. No experience with fenugreek, but the raspberry leaf worked well with boosting my milk and keeping my mood swings under control!
