Hi IMS... I have (I believe) a really awesome early childhood book that can adapt to children as they grow (e.g. Teachers could use it in English and drama lessons up to year 3). It's mostly illustrations (which I'm hopeless at, so I'm trying to get husband to do it for me), but I just wouldn't have a clue how to get it published or anything like that. I wouldn't mind having a teacher who's very knowledgable with curriculum documents to help me/ give me advice/ even add in their 2 cents (but unfortunately I can't pay for anyones time)... I've written out a lot as to why it's good, how parents and teachers can use the books, I know what I want the books to look like etc. I just don't know what to do next... Wish I was an artist to do some drafts haha..

My husband works for a printing company. A very big one. Sooo many people choose to self publish. It's a big risk. Basically you pay for all printed copies yourself and then marketing and advertising is up to you as well. Which costs more money. It's a big risk. As if they don't sell, you're left with a tonne of books and no one who'll buy them. I'd say 10% turn a profit after choosing that route but I'm not sure exactly. Alternatively you can contact publishing houses and they 'invest' in you. Print your book for you and pay you a royalty per copy sold. This is the ideal way. Costs you very little and you lose nothing if it doesn't sell.
