Help with car seats!

We currently have 3 kids and are planning no.4! Our only problem is car seats! We have a holden captiva 7 and will need to fit 2× convertible boosters for our 2 yr old twins, plus a new born car seat. The eldest will have to sit in the back. We already stuggle atm with just the 2 car seats, and have no idea how we will possibly fit 3! Getting a new car is completely out of the question. So for those of you that have a captiva and 3 car seats, what seats exactly do you have??? Is it even possible to fit 3? Tia

Yep, boosters in the back, both of them. It's snug, but they fit. Then 2 car seats in the middle. Eldest child in the dead centre. 5 kids here on weekends :)

Best bet will be to visit a baby store/fitter and physically try out the seats in your car. The newish InfaSecure Quattro (I think) is a very slim car seat (about the slimmest on the market, currently) and might work as your newbie seat. You might need to look at seats that harness past 4 (like Evolves or Maxi-Rider Easy Adjusts) for your twins so you don't have to worry about doing up seat belts on boosters later on.

But yes, it should be possible to get 3 across in a Captiva 7. It will just be a matter of getting the seat combo right.

Can u ditch the convertible boosters and buy new seats for your twins. Or just keep one in the convertible booster then buy a slimline 0-4seat which can last them past 4 unless their torso is incredibly long. Some slimline seats are 44cm wide (usually those convertible boosters are 47-49cm wide). The baby love Ezy switch is supposed to be a good seat and it's 44cm wide. About $250.

I have 3 harnessed seats in my Prado for my 5yo, 3yo and 1yo. S&s lifestyle rearfacimg and 2 maxiriders. My Prado is prob a bit bigger than your car tho.

There's a great Facebook page which has lots of knowledgable ppl about car safety and car seats. I'll find the link and copy below.

Can I also suggest that you invest in a roof pod, we have a Sorento and 4 kids and find the biggest issue is boot space when you have to leave one seat up all the time. The pod is great I use it every day for shopping, school bags etc. and it is also handy when you go away. It has saved us having to buy a new car because without it storage was a real problem. Good luck
