Temp, Casual, Fixed term! What does a woman have to do to get a permanent job in Toowoomba

As the subject says...I need a position in Toowoomba, heck maybe even Ipswich or in-between if it means having work. I believe I have valuable skills to offer, technical as well as people-wise. I am a hard worker, I am a mum of one, studying part-time with a near perfect GPA, working 28 hours a week. I do well in my jobs (which are always casual or fixed term!), but when it comes to trying to even get an interview I keep getting rejected. I have a cover letter and resume, I have polished it and re-polished it. I only have a few weeks left on my current contract and I NEED a job. I'm sick of people saying it's going to be okay; maybe it will be when I have a new job...but until I get another job, it actually WON'T be okay. I just need someone to give me a chance and see that I can actually do the job! Sisters, do you have any advice, know of any jobs - I would prefer continuing with admin and office support but can do retail and wait tables if I have no other choice. I'll even clean but I have never done it as a profession; I certainly try to keep my own house clean though so I'm sure it doesn't require rocket science. Happy to do security work if somewhere offers an apprenticeship for getting the qualifications? Anything nearly! Looking for 25-30 hours a week, will take more & will take less too.

You have to sell your soul to get a job in Toowoomba lol especially when even entry level positions want experience!

The abattoirs offer permanent full-time work. It's shit work, don't doubt it for a second but it's reliable. There's a wait to get on due to the cattle situation at the moment but due to turnover jobs do come up. I started because even with courses under my belt no-one would give me a chance in retail and overnight security work was doing my head in.

It's not just Toowoomba, it's all of Qld. Jobs are as scarce as hens teeth these days. I have been looking for a job for nearly 5 years and can't even get a casual one. Good luck!
