Ive just started working perm part time, it was only meant to be a few hrs a week but I've just clocked 50hrs and this is my first week. My husband works for himself and we have 5 children, I usually keep the whole house spotless but with working I'm finding it hard to find the time and energy. I'm wondering if its worth getting a cleaner in. Is once a week worth it or is twice better?. How much do people pay for a decent clean. My kids do a lot of jobs every afternoon and do their own rooms, my husband also does a fairly good man clean. Its just the little things mainly like dusting and changing bed linen, maybe a vacuum. What do others do?.

When I was working 14 hour days I used to have someone come in and do the time consuming crap that I didn't want to do when I finished work. We live by the rule of cleaning up after yourself for the most part but they'd vaccuum and mop, clean the oven and rangehood, clean the bathroom, just stuff like that. It was a husband and wife team which I booked for an hour a week and if they had time left at the end of the hour they'd wash the breakfast dishes or hang out a load of washing etc before they left. This was a few years ago and they were charging $18p/h each.
