Sorry I'm no help but know your not alone. Once their asleep we can finally relax & switch off, I'm also guilty of pigging out big time! I'd love too start exercising and eating better also but agree it's so hard too get started x
If you don't buy junk, you can't eat it.
Firstly, go to your doctor and ask for some blood tests. Check to see if your thyroid is healthy, your cholesterol is ok, and blood sugar levels etc.
Firstly don't try and change everything all at once. I found that too overwhelming and I'd fall straight back into old patterns.
What I did was change one thing at a time until it became a habit. So for me I started with a breakfast overhaul. Once I was consistently eating a healthy breakfast then I changed my lunch, then once that was established then I changed my dinner. Then I started dropping the junk food snacks. Not all at once but decreasing it.
I also agree, if you don't buy it, you can't eat it. Finding something to do that's pleasureAble instead of food will also help. What's another way you could treat yourself?
join a group fitness class and pay for a few sessions up front so you are more likely to go. Group classes are a lot of fun and you are more likely to stay accountable.
If that's not an option just start by going for a walk everyday, take the kids or the dog if you have one. Aim for at least 30 mins and walk at a pace that would make it hard to maintain a conversation. Do them on an empty stomach (make sure you have water though) and this will make it a fat burner walk as your body won't have fuel to use so it will use it's fat reserves.
As one of the other comments said, start small, just make little changes gradually.
As hard as it is to get up do something when you are tired trust me you will feel better for doing it. It's hard but it's possible and it's worth it.
Exercising with other people is my best advice for motivation, I'm a personal trainer and still struggle to work out on my own.
I think you need to be in the right headspace and ready to make changes.. I've put off trying to lose my baby weight for the last 8 months but two days ago decided that I finally cant keep going and need to make a change if I want to feel better about myself and actually fit into my old clothes.

Try the 16:8 Intermittent Fasting. I'm a night snacker too. There is a FB page you can join and everyone is so supportive and will give you great meal ideas etc. You eat high fat low carb/sugar but you're never hungry. If you want a snack after dinner... frozen berries and cream with some vanilla. It's lush and fills the sweet craving. Hope this helps.
I lost 20kg using a fitbit. No gym, only excercise was walking my dog a few times a week. Use the fitbit app to enter everything you eat and drink. You learn very quickly what to eat and what not to eat. Entering what you eat holds you accountable to yourself. You cheat, you cheat yourself. Its amazing how just moving around during the day helps. I even ate icecream every night, just ate less during the day so that i could. That way it doesn't feel like dieting. Good luck.
To start off with, download My Fitness Pal or another kilojoule counter and work out how many kilojoules you need for your height, weight and activity level. Track your kilojoules for a week and get an idea what you are eating. You have to log everything- food, drinks, sauces, salad dressing etc. After a week I noticed that the 1500 kj burger that I ate regularly was 1/4 of my daily kilojoule limit and made me feel sick afterwards was no longer worth it to me. After that week I started focusing on healthy behaviours and making slow changes. All up I have lost 30kg and I still eat junk when I want to, I just make it fit into my kilojoule limit. Look up HASfit on Youtube. Their exercise routines are excellent, varied and free.
