Looking to make friends after moving

Hi everyone!
After a failed relationship I have moved to Wollongong and I don't have many friends... I feel like I am trying to date to find some friends and I'm struggling

I am a single mother of 2 girls aged 9 and 11, I am 30 years old and I would love to make some girlfriends that either have kids the same age as my girls or even that are in the same boat as me being single and just trying to find some gals to hang out with maybe on weekends where I don't have my kids to go and have a night out or do activities with kids.
I have been going to the movies on my own, I go out to dinner on my own and it's really getting depressing.
Wollongong has changed so much, so many nice spots to go and fun things to do but not solo.
I live in a unit at Wollongong which has a really nice pool, I have a border collie, 2 kids, I enjoy riding my cruiser push bike around, going to the beach, going to movies, good food and I do enjoy a drink or 2
If you live around the Wollongong region and are in the same boat feel free to comment and I will PM you.
Thinking I may join the gym if need be to meet people but I just don't know how elseto meet people?
Thanks

Have you tried volunteering at your kids school? Also check out the Meet-up app. Loads of groups you can join

Try the 'Meetup' app. There's heaps of different groups with different interests, you can meet new friends on. Good luck hun and chin up, it's hard moving and starting your friendship circle again. I've done it a few times now. I don't live in Wollongong or I would have offered to be your new bestie xx
