My Lil one is nearly 1 and is having a morning bottle and a bottle before night sleep .

I took bottle with teats away at 1 but my almost 18 month old still has a sippy cup of milk in the morning and 1 before bed. We are transitioning to a regular cup for water during the day at the moment so by 2 his sippy cup will be hopefully gone. Why are they pressuring you to stop giving him milk before bed? I still let my 10 yr old have warm milk before bed if she wants it, it helps them sleep better usually! Tell them all to butt out, your kid, your rules!
In relation to teats it can start to affect their teeth and milk sitting on their teeth for long periods can cause tooth decay but a drink of water will help prevent that while they're only little.

Seriously they need to get over themselves. We switched to a sippy cup about 1.5years of age. Was probably having 2 cups of milk per day.

My 3 older kids were all about 1. My youngest and last is 19 mo and she still has one. I do not care what anyone says she is my last and i am enjoying and making the most of the precious moment of her falling asleep in my arms having her bottle.

At 18mths i switched all 3 of my kids to a sippy cup with milk you can get some great non spill ones. Then by 2.5 to 3 yrs they all stopped milk and only had water instead of milk. But honestly you listen to all the ideas and then do whats best for you and your child

You need to tell them to butt out.
He's your son and as his mum you decide what's right.
My first was off bottles at 14mths. My second just turned 2 last week and still has a bottle soon as wakes then sippy cup with either water or milk during day.
Every kids different! If your son enjoys the milk from a bottle why should you change that? He's only 1 let him have it and when he's ready to swap he'll show you himself

My 2 were off bottles before 1. I do agree with getting him off the bottle asap but don't agree with them feeling you feel like you are killing your child :/ all kids are different and get off things at different times.

Mine were both almost two. Dont be pressured. Yes its great no bottles yes its great if they sleep in their own through the whole night, but theyre babies, whats great for them? If you dont mind and its not affecting you, do it your way. One is still so very little i think they get a lot of comfort from sucking i know mine really enjoy rheir bottle of milk no way i would stop it to please someone else.

My children had a bottle morning and night till 4yrs. It was there comfort, gave me more sleep etc. I only gave milk in morning and started to water milk down at night till it was water by 3 as long as there was a bit of colour they are happy. The only reason I went to water at night is it is bad for their teeth. You do what works for you. Good luck. :-)

It's infant decay that is the problem with them having bottles before sleep for too long, the milk sits on their teeth all night. Having said that, your little one is only 12 months, my little boy stopped around 18 months (he is 9 and doesn't have 1 filling if that helps). I'm not sure of the dental association guidelines/regulations, it's been so long since I had a baby but maybe google it and check.

As long as they have some water to rinse their mouth after having the milk it's not an issue and obviously as they get older they can brush their teeth before bed if they have a cup of warm milk

I was assuming it's a baby's bottle off to sleep. Of course kids can have a cup of milk and clean their teeth, it goes without saying but I've never seen anyone give a baby a bottle then take them to clean their teeth.

I meant while they're little and still having a bottle or sippy cup they can have water in their bottle to rinse the milk from their teeth, didn't explain it very clearly sorry

OMG..people need to get a life!!! She's a baby..mine all where BF and bottle fed..all loved there bottles until around 2 and a half..I weened them when I felt they were ready and that's what you should do! They eventually went to a night bottle at bed time..middle child had a dummy so weaned dummy at 2 and bottle about 2 and half..no problems or sleepless nights..my baby is 19 months and having 2_3 bottles a day..all my children ate/eat well..are healthy and have great teeth...do what works for you and yours :)

Well, make your own decisions they need to stop pressuring you. If there is any concern it should only be about the bottle, not the milk. The current recommendation is to start with a cup (can be sippy cup) around this age so milk is not left on the teeth for a long time (or over night) so the baby doesn't get holes. Good to brush teeth after too. The longer the years of sucking on a bottle, the greater the risk of tooth decay. Juice is the same. It doesn't have to happen straight away but around that age is recommended. They don't need formula any more, just normal cows milk or alternatives. There no need to stop milk if they are eating good meals and it is not meal replacement. Warm milk can still be part of the bedtime routine, just a bit differently to protect your baby's teeth. You can talk to your maternal health nurse or gp to get more info to help you decide what's best in your situation.

Do what ever feels right to you who cares about anyone else's opinion!
My son is almost 4 and he still has a yoghurt or milk (less so because we are trying to night toilet train) before bed because he wants too
