Jobs for full time single mums?

What jobs are out there for single mums other than teachers aide/teacher that will allow school holidays off?
I haven't been in the workforce for 4 years now and I would like to start studying once my youngest is in preschool (hes only 6 months right now) so that by the time they're in prep I can start applying for jobs.
I already have my cert 3 in education support but I'm worried it will be hard to get work in where I live (small rural town).
Being a full time single mum I need to have school holidays off as no one else to look after them and it would break my heart to have them in care for all their holidays so if I can get a job that allows me to just work school hours and make enough to get off centrelink benefits that would be AWESOME!
Happy to hear all ideas :)

I'm afraid aside from a teacher/aide no other jobs get school holidays off. Can you work part time so kids would only need to be in vacation care for some of the time? You may be suprised though, a lot of the vacation care programs are fantastic, my sister is a sahm & her son chooses to go a couple days to vacation care on holidays

Sorry, they will end up in school holiday care. No job allows all of the school holidays off other than teachers and teachers aide, even then you sometimes have to go in the summer holidays.
I used to spread my holidays out so I could take at least one or two days off each holiday but kids love school holiday care.

Nursing can be good :) most work it casual and my sister is casual but has so far had fulltime standard hours. She just makes sure to give notice before holidays

Yes, I'm a nurse. If you are flexible with what areas you will work in then you can often get enough casual work. However; placements while at uni you would find very difficult. Also a year or 2 full time work o consolidate your learning is really needed too

I wouldnt stress over it. If you dont want them in care all the time youll work 3 or four days a week then take some days of your holidays on school holidays to give you both enough of a nice break. Most high earning jobs dont work on holidays or public holidays as well.

Volunteer at the local school. This was how all the mums got a paid gig back when my kids were little, and yes it was a small town too
