Over weight daughter

Over weight daughter

My daughter is over weight. As much as i try the weight doesnt seem to move! She has a HUUUGE appetite and i have been trying to make meals healthier and more filling at the same time but she constantly complains she is hungry. (I think its a definite boredom thing) i also have a son who eats the same and is a healthy weight but is much more energetic and on the go so that helps.
She also does an out of school sport but thats only once a week and she doesnt like it enough to practice or anything at home.(she has tried several different sports/after school activities )
I am after ANY ideas on how to help her. Meal ideas, snack ideas, exercise ideas, how to stop her boredom eating, and how to say no to food without feeling like im starving her. Any ideas at all would be great!!

I wouldn't focus on the food. The more people tell me I shouldn't be eating the more deprived and starved I perceive myself.
I would focus on fixing the boredom. Organise play dates, get her involved in non sport activities. Not all kids and adults are going to like or be good at sport but there are plenty of other activities. What are her interests. S she arty? Has she shown an interest in coding, has she shown an interest in gardening?
What ever her interests are there is usually classes/groups etc that can encourage her interest.
Teach her how to entertain herself.
If she is eating her emotions teach her how to deal with them through talking, journaling etc.
Start cutting out (gradually) traditional snack foods from your shopping. It's hard to eat biscuits, crisps etc if they arent in the house. But do it slowly.

Agree wholeheartedly. Cure the boredom. If shes not sporty, try writing, art, sewing, music, puzzles, singing, drama, nature, conservation. Think about her personality, interests and talents and help her explore them.
Possibly food and cooking? Teach her about nutrition find a good app or website I think theres a govt one for kids that also has recipes. So she can learn, think about food, choose foods and plan and make meals and snacks thoughtfully instead of eating mindlessly.

Go for a walk together after school
Its great mother daughter bonding time as you can talk while you're walking. I used to love going for afternoon walks with my mum.
