Period Problem - Babysitter

Hi girls,
I'm a 23 year old girl, and last night I was baby sitting friend's kids. I've recently come off birth control and my periods have been irregular since...after the kids went to bed, I had a little nap on the couch AND...I got my period unexpectedly without my realising and it bled through my pants a bit. I'm worried my friend and her partner would've seen it when they come home. I don't think it got on their couch etc. My question is, do I bring it up and make a joke out of it? Or do I just forget about it and hope they realise I'm only human/perhaps they didn't notice. I'm feel really embarrassed and a bit upset! (lol hormones!). Would you be put off by a baby sitter if it happened to them? Thank you. X

Don't be silly, it happens to the best of us! No need to be embarrassed by something natural that you can't control. I'm sure your friend and her partner would completely understand if they even noticed and would have no reason to be put off by it. If they've got a daughter I'm sure they'll have period related talks, accidents and awkwardness to look forward too. I would just move on, I'm sure they wouldn't bring it up even if they did notice.

Happens to everyone at some point in there life. It wouldn't put me off, but then I wouldn't be looking in that area anyway!

Shit happens. I've had bleed through at work, I just learned to wear black trousers. I've also learned to love panty liners lol.

Honestly do not even worry about it - shit happens and adults are most likely mature enough to not even give a rats arse. IF they noticed they probably had a quick chuckle when you left and won't ever bring it up because they understand.

I was out for dinner with a friend a few months back wearing light blue jeans and I felt my period coming on suddenly (out of the ordinary for me). I was like sooooo I have just gotten my period I can't even run to the toilet everyone will see. She quickly just gave me her jumped and I wrapped it around. Honestly, a bloody disaster (pun intended). It was everywhere and we laughed so much about it and then I had to go home to my MIL's and we laughed even more.

I usually wear a liner most days just in case now and then in the couple of days leading up to my period I will wear a pad and wear black pants.

Honey, she's got kids. A little blood is not likely to be the worst thing to have gotten on their couch!

As a mum she has cleaned so much worse! Plus delt with after birth periods. A quiet word to mum incase anything did get on their couch and they will be 100% fine with you babysitting in the future. All females have been there!! ☺
