Permanent job is coming up but not sure what to do

Hey sisters,

I've been working for a company for 6 years (2 years of that was with the company on a traineeship) after that I was put on as a contractor with a company but still worked at the same place, half the pay, no annual, no maternity leave, no sick leave and no security in the job as I've been through a lot of culls where they get rid of 100's of people's at the one time. I have put my life on hold with my husband as my career is really really important to me and I was hoping that they would put permanents on so I could feel apart of the team again and have the security that I've always wanted soooo after 6 years the company has stated they will have permanent positions available very soon which is exactly what I was looking for and they said they will favour the people who have been dedicated to the company over the years (I'm the longest serving contractor) but the only thing is I'm 7 weeks pregnant which is something we have always wanted and I put the baby making on hold for so long because of this job and now it's come up at the worst timing.

I would like to know would you still apply for your dream permanent job? They have stuffed me around for years but I've been so determined to be successful and now I feel like a failure. I really really want this job but I would also feel bad if I got the job and then 3 months later have to tell them I'm pregnant but in saying that I have something to come back to after the baby is born. It works out perfectly as I work with hubby and his a permanent.

I don't know what to do, I don't want to see my dream just go out the window, i don't think I can have both though- the ultimate family we have always wanted and my dream job I've waited so long for and gave up waiting and then BAM!

Don't tell them you're pregnant and apply for the job.

Funny how hubby is permanent... do they only offer it to the males???

Hubby start 1.5 years before me before the down turn happened so they decided not to put any perms on and just contractors.
