So a little bit of an odd one but my husband has toxic farts and it's not even funny anymore.
We've tried removing lactose from our diets (we already knew I was lactose intolerant) and that's helped with his bloating but not his blowing.
If I cook onion it's guaranteed to cause extra crying on my behalf so I stopped that one but I'm stumped. I cooked chicken in salsa for dinner tonight on tortillas and he's at it like crazy. I legit had to leave the room where I was preparing tomorrow's lunches because it was that bad!
He just drops them wherever he is like its nothing and says he doesn't feel them and it's normal to fart. I've asked him to leave the room or even the house but that's a whole different issue.
Does anyone know what's causing these stink bombs?
Oh also we have no beans in our diet either but he does eat weet bix every morning for breakfast without fail!

Time for him to visit a GP and possibly a dietician. Might need an elimination diet. You basically systematically eliminate foods to find out what you are readying to. It's always best under medical supervision as they can be totally useless if you don't follow the protocol.
Onion, mushrooms and garlic are the WORST foods that cause bad gas, so many people actually cannot digest these foods properly (hence the gas).
I have irritable bowel syndrome, some of the things you've mentioned may indicate this could be an issue for him too.
If there are no other concerning symptoms (ie. The smell seems to be getting progressively worse, Abdominal pain, trouble going to the toilet, not being able to get off the toilet, nausea, severe integestion/heartburn or blood or mucous in his stool) I expect it is a dietary issue, he probably needs to see a dietician and a gastroenterologist (to rule out any of the scary stuff first) and to work on a more specific elimination diet to work out his triggers.
We don't have any onions anymore, he doesn't like mushrooms so we don't have them either and I haven't used garlic in over 2 weeks :(
It could be any number of things really, do keep in mind though that so many packaged foods have garlic and onion powder/flavourings in them too, think potato chips, jarred sauces and marinades just to name a few but there are so many things that have sneaky onion/garlic in it, I can't tolerate these myself so I have to read the ingredients on things really well before I buy them lol.
If he's eating a lot of packaged or processed foods (crap basically) that would probably be excacerbating the smell too, try and get him eating lots of fresh fruit and veg, good quality meat and fish. Maybe get him to try a gut health pro biotic (you get them from the fridge section at your pharmacy).
Sounds like he could have IBS
It would be something he's eating, try an elimination diet. The chemist has quite a few things for farting and gas just on the shelves, I usually get something before long car rides for my son so we don't all die in the car 😂
Oooh do you have any product names?
Is there any way of doing this elimination diet without a professional? He doesn't see this as a problem so won't see anyone.
A low Fodmap diet may be helpful for him. Google fodmap diets or you can download an app from the Menzies Institute (it costs $10 tho) that gives you information on high fodmap foods (those are the ones to avoid) low fodmap recipes etc.
My staffy does this when I feed him Schmackos (not that I'm insinuating you feed your husband dog treats on the sly). Agree with the elimination diet and a good probiotic probably won't go astray either.
