I'd love some advice and guidance from others who have been in the same boat as me. Ive been a SAHM for around 7 years, im in my late 20's and im getting ready to wanting to go back into the workforce. My smallest is in preschool 3 days per week next year so although we arnt under any financial pressure for me to work, I feel like I will start to get bored and I want to use it as a reason to get out and work/socialise again. Problem is I dont really know where to start as I dont really have anything on my resume, everything I did pre kids was casual work and not really relevant considering it was 7+ years ago. Studying is something I have wanted to do in the past but Im thinking id like to at least start working casually and reconsider studying down the track when I have more of an idea as to what Id like to do. So basically what have others done to add to their resumes, obviously I will be upfront about my gap in employment, but Im not sure if I should go to a job agency and ask them what I should be doing? Even places like supermarkets etc ask for a resume, so Im really not sure how to start one going. Others advice would be great!

Maybe volunteer to get some experience?
As a nsw government recruitment specialist I strongly recommend contacting a recruitment agency. A recruitment agency will assist with writing your resume and will try and place you in a workplace of interest which suits your skill set and personal circumstances. A lot of workplaces are in need of part time workers.
