My preppie has been in trouble this week for wandering at school. It’s made us pretty anxious and obviously bothered his teacher enough for her to mention it.

Turns out his usual mates have been telling him to go away! So he feels he has no one to play with and wanders looking for his older brother. Poor kid just told me he is scared at school because it’s all so different. Makes you just want to tear them out of school and protect them from the harshness of others and the world forever. Anyone else experiencing this? How did you help your little one?

You could phrase it to say that school keeps all the preppies safe and that's why he needs to stay in his playground. They care and hey don't want the preppies to get hurt accidentally by the bigger kids or to get lost. But they also don't want him to be sad or to be lonely, then give him some ideas he can do to find new friends.

Get the teacher to buddy him up with someone, let the teacher know of the problems with the so called friend's. They are usually very good at dealing with this kind of thing. We had to do that for our kid this year altho his in year 1. Good luck!
