Finding time for timeout without feeling guilty

How do other parents manage life and kids and timeout and friends.

I cant remember the last time I got out with friends and let me hair down. I dont go any where and I dont do anything. I feel I cant, I feel as a mum I cant or shouldnt. I feel I cant even have a drink because I think its irresponsible.

I think the only way to, is by accepting that you “need to” for your own menta health and sanity.

It doesn’t have to be extravagant. But some time alone is always amazing when you’re a busy mum.

If you are working, like me, I find that sometimes dropping the kids off half an hour earlier so I can sit in my car just to do fuck all, does wonders for my state of mind.

Stop feeling guilty for being a human being who needs some refresher time. If you need to take a night of, or go to lunch on your own, make it happen and enjoy every last minute of it.

For me I had to change my way of thinking. Instead of feeling that horrible guilt that comes with being a mum. I would tell myself its time to recharge the batteries, so I can be a better mum. I need some me time so I could be more patient with kids, so I could be more in the present with them. So I wouldnt forget who I was outside of being a mother and a wife.
