I have a 2 month old, a 3 year old and 2 cats at home, going to the grocery stores and the pet store is so difficult for me. I've been using Coles online, but the quality of the fruits & vegetables are so bad I feel anxious every time I place an order :( Any other recommendations would be really appreciated! :-D Thank you xx

Probably not what you want to hear, but go to the shop and get them yourself so you can pick the items you want. I know itβs hard with two small ones, but really no other options. Unless family or your partner can do it for you or watch the kids while you get them.
Thanks Lauren π
Definitely go there yourself. I know how hard it is with kids but they really do need to get used to going out and the only way you can do that is taking them with you.
Going grocery shopping sucks, going grocery shopping with kids double sucks but sometimes you've just got to do it! It gets easier too, once you've got it down pat it just slots into your usual routine.
Write a list, budget and buy for a fortnight so you don't have to go there too often. They also have double trolleys now too which would have made my life easier when my 3 were little (I had 3 under 3, take a second to imagine how hectic my shopping trips were ππ).
Getting out and about will do you all good too.
I have a local fruit and veggies store near by that delivers but honestly they do the same, they pack things in the box that I wouldn't pick out if I did it myself (literally got bananas once that were already spotty!).
Thanks for the tip about planning and budgeting! I'll give it a go π
I have an 18 month age gap between my two - I get it, it's hard work going shopping with 2 littlies! I do a click and collect order for everything but the fresh food. Then I only have to spend 10 minutes at the most in the shop buying my fruit and veg. Youngest goes in the baby carrier and the eldest loves helping to get the fruit and veg.. Or I organise someone to have the kids for me while I do my shopping
What about using Airtasker. I am sure someone would be happy to do your shopping for you to the standard you are after.
I've always got great fresh produce delivered, you could try specificying in the notes section, small bananas, soft peaches, etc
Or order everything else and go for a nice stroll and do a fruit market shop. It's more enjoyable when you don't have to lug the heavy stuff and you still get someone else carrying it inside.
Iβm a regular on this site called Feedmeenow - www.feedmeenow.com. Basically a shopper goes to your local supermarkets and shop for you. My experience with them has been great so far. My shopper always takes her time to choose my fruits for me (I am really picky with fruits!!) One time, all the grapes in Coles were bad, and she sent me a photo saying none of the grapes look ok, and if I still want to get them. Having this level of personal communication is really good and transparent. The service has been amazing so far!!! Definitely recommend you to try it out. I am not sure if they are in your area/city though.
I have a 3 year gap between my two and we made the supermarket shop part of our routine.
Each week at the same time and day usually 2pm after the youngest woke from a nap.
Also our supermarket had bakers delight next to it so at first the oldest will get a treat from there to eat when I was shopping and when the baby got bigger they got one too.
It soon became their favorite day
I agree with this. I have a 3.5 year gap between my 2. My oldest either takes my iPad to play or chooses something from Baker's delight to eat while I shop. My youngest has just turned 1 yo so I have started getting her a treat too. We only go into 1 shop in the centre because they really do not have the patience for more than 1 shop at a time!
I've never had bad fruit and vegetables delivered. However, the quality in the shop is poor right now. You're probably getting the best there is
I totally feel you, I have a young bub and getting it delivered or click & collect is so much easier than dragging him to the shops. Depending where you're situated, there are grocers around that deliver fresh fruit & veg. I know here in Melbourne there is heaps of choice. If you're on a local facebook buy swap sell page, post the question if anyone knows of a local company that offer deliveries of fresh produce.
You make it sound like you have to take your cats shopping with you π.
Just do it yourself, it's a bit of an adventure for the kids they love it.
