Hi sisterhood,
My family is looking at moving from Sydney to Brisbane. But truth is we know nothing about Brisbane and the areas.
So my question to those that live in Brisbane and its western and southern suburbs, Which Brisbane suburbs are good areas for raising a family? Which ones have decent schools, and good community minded feel? Which ones would u say would be best to avoid? I grew up in an area well infested with drugs and crime, and although I know those things can happen anywhere, I'd like to ensure we dont move to an area where these problems are on every street corner.
Thanks ladies

I posted earlier about moving states for our own lives... Brisbane is a possibility for us so i am also interested in this.
Forest lake, mount ommaney Kenmore and Springfield lakes are good family areas. Avoid the whole of Logan area and Ipswich oh and Inala!

Brissy is not too bad, we work in these areas you would like to avoid.
Stay away from Caboolture, Deception Bay, real inner city.
I am from Sydney, these areas to avoid are not even too bad.
We live on the Sunny Coast, and love it.
If you work in Brissy our Bruce HWY sucks most days especially Sunday afternoon
It depends on how close to the city you want to be. I’ve lived in Highgate Hill, West End, Fairfield, Annerley and Tarragindi. No more than 10 mins from the city. I love them all. Fairfield and Tarragindi are the most beautiful with lovely parks and the river. Brisbane State High School is good if you live near west end. I worked at Coorparoo Secondary Coolege for 12 years and I can’t speak highly enough. Very small school, you don’t have to be in catchment. I would not send kids to Yeronga SHS. Forrest Lake and Springfield are very far away from the city. Yes, avoid Logan, Inala, Woodbridge etc...
Feel free to ask anything else if you need.
