Has anyone chose to have their child repeat 4 year old kinder?
We are in the position of potentially repeating kinder and I just want to hear others stories. Has their age been an issue. She turns 5 in term 4 so she'll be 6 when she starts school turning 7 at the end of the prep year.

Yes and not an issue at all age wise. In fact turning 6 before they start school is quite common.
Can you elaborate on why?
Starting prep aged 6 happens but its not common, its likely she would be the only one in the class.
Really? In NSW & VIC its very common for preps to be 6.
No it's not. It is common to be turning six in that year, but starting aged six is not commonplace.
Yes and it was the best decision I made.
Delay!
I'm pretty sure it depends on state, in WA the cut off is June 30 (born before they go to pre primary/prep the year they turn 5, born after they go the year they turn 6) we however will be making an application for my son to do 4 yr old kindy next year (he will be 5 turning 6 & then 6 turning 7 in prep too) I hav had plenty of therapists and teachers tell me the later the better and especially for boys.
Hi everyone,
OP here. I should have mentioned that we are in constant communication with her kinder. They are wonderful and working alongside her speechy as well.
She is going to be right on the line to be ready to go which is why we're talking about a second kinder year. I would rather her thrive rather than survive.
The more people I'm talking to I'm realising that there more and more kids starting school 6 or turning 6 early in the school year so she'll only be a couple.of months older anyway. I don't think an extra year will hurt anyone. But we'll make the decision come 4th term.
