Give me hope ladies, I’m looking for success stories. If I hear “the only thing that help me was birth” one more time I’m gunna punch myself in the face and probably throw myself off a bridge.
I’m 7 week pregnant, diagnosed with HG (hyperemesis) at week 5.
I am dying. I have a organisation coming out twice a day to give me meds through IV and it only just takes the edge off, the rest of the time, I’m on fluids through IV and also just throwing up and despising the thought of food. This is my 4th baby, my youngest being 18 months so as you can imagine, being this unwell is really taking its toll. I’m struggling hard. So I wanna hear success stories of this ending during pregnancy preferably before 20 weeks or even once you hit that 12 mark. Help me with hope because it’s all I got right now!

I'm not gonna lie to you, I was unwell to the end. BUT, it did become more bearable as my pregnancy progressed (and that was without meds, HG was pretty well unheard of then). At around 21/22 weeks I could manage short trips to the shops, brief bursts of house work, could keep small meals down and I'd figured out what foods I could tolerate and what were triggers.
The good news is - thanks to Duchess Kate, there's more awareness and treatments available now, so hopefully you find something to take the edge off!
Controversial but lots of women have success with cannabis. Takes away the nausia and increasing appetite. Much less risk to baby having some natural plant than all the meds they prescribe. Do some research into it, read the studies that prove only beneficial to the baby. No adverse effects recorded.
The only key to mine was hydration .. I just know it eased off after I got some fluid in me through iv. easier said then done right ... :( for my bub no 3 it eased off around 20 weeks for me , I still was nauseous but the meds Worked better and the vomiting stopped . I was able To find something that stayed Down and I just stuck with it (For a while the only thing was Chocolate thick shakes ! )
If you’ve got a drip then really that’s all you can do . It is different for everyone though and what works for one may not work for another.
And remember ... you’ve got this ‘ you can totally do it !!! The best part is that it WILL end ! Whether it’s sooner or later you will get through it and have an amazing reward for the hell at the end !
Try to Accept any help that is offered and maybe ask for it sometimes too , you are strong you are amazing ! This too shall pass ! Xox
