I experienced a very tough pregnancy and incredibly long, difficult birth with my first child. I received very poor parental care during my pregnancy and as a result in this suffered from awful post natal depression that went undiagnosed for a long time. We were pushed into things by doctors, putting all of our trust in the professionals only to find out later that we should have stuck to our guns as it would have resulted in an easier birth and recovery.
Because of my whole experience my partner and I have been fearful of going back for number 2.
We have finally decided to start trying again but this time I want to make sure we do things right and we do things OUR way.
I have decided that this time around I would like to opt for an elective C-section (no judgement please)
We have private health insurance that covers for pregnancy but I’m not sure if it’s worth going completely private or private/public. Any advice or comparisons that can be shared?

I had elective c section in public and had no out of pocket costs at all. It wasn’t a 5 star hotel but the nursing staff where great and I was well cared for. Only diff was I had an emergency c section with #1 so with number 2 it was an easy conversation. Do what feels right it’s you body and baby
