Hello mums
I am just wondering if any other mums have become scared of things they otherwise were perfectly fine with after having kids.
I used to ride horses and my husbands work is based around them but after having my babies I have become terrified of them. I have no idea why I feel this way I haven’t had a bad experience and am so confused why I start to shake when I have to go out and catch one for my hubby.
Have any other mums felt this way after having your kids and how long did it take to get back to normal?

Yes, I developed an irrational fear of heights after having my kids, and I used to be a massive adrenaline junkie before I had them! Like, I get almost a panic attack from walking over a pedestrian bridge that's barely 4 metres off the ground, can't look out the window of high buildings and all 😂
I'm also much more cautious in a general sense now too, I don't take unnecessary risks and I try and consider not exactly the worst case scenarios but potential complications that can arise whereas before kids I'd act first, think later.
I think it's all tied in with our motherly instincts, most mums and dads too of course are fiercely protective of their kids, so I think that's why we develop these sudden fears.
That all said, if you feel these new fears are really starting to become debilitating, it may actually be developing into a bit of anxiety, still totally normal but that's when you may need to get some professional assistance to help you find some coping strategies etc.
Yes, driving, spiders and choking. None of them I was scared of before. If someone else was driving I was a nervous wreck, I had to breathe my way through every road trip like someone who is scared of flying does. I am not scared of those things anymore and my youngest is 14. Strange isn't it?
Yes I did. Also had anxiety issues in general I hadn't had prior. It's returned to normal now the kids are older.
