Everfit Brand Trampoline. Can anyone help?

Dear sisterhood, we bought the kids a trampoline of the everfit brand. We have a instructional manual, and it really is fairly poor. We've got so far but have come unstuck on how to thread the mats together and where these clips go. Obviously we've contacted the manufacturer who have also been as unhelpful as the manual.
