Are these feelings unhealthy?

Hey sisterhood,
Please bare with me, I know this is going to sound ridiculous but I want to know whether my feelings are unhealthy or not?

After having our first, we decided we didn’t want another. We were satisfied and felt fulfilled. However, after some very lengthy discussions and assessing our lives, my hubby and I have decided we’re going to go for number 2.

Since we’ve decided to try, I’ve been buying stuff (not excessive amounts, but probably something each week) for the next baby. Our first didn’t have new shiny things and we can now afford it, so I want that for our next if we conceive. I feel like I have love for a kid that hasn’t even been conceived yet, my heart is so open and ready to welcome a second one and it’s something I would really like to happen sooner rather than later.

Is it abnormal or unhealthy to be feeling this way? Loving something that isn’t even a being yet and just a possibility of happening? I’m not over obsessive or anything and it’s not effecting me, I would be content still if we didn’t conceive however I want it to happen so feel like I’m buying things in the hopes it will.. I hope that makes sense!

I think it’s quite normal for a lot of people. Not for me because I never have had a chance to plan a pregnancy, they just showed up.

It sounds to me like you're excited and why on earth shouldn't you be?
Trying/planning for a baby is exciting and you're allowed to really want this to happen!

As long as you aren't out buying thousands of dollars on baby furnishings or going completely nuts, stocking up on the occasional adorable onsie, pair of booties or blanket is more than ok.

I hope this all works out the way you want x

Awww it’s completely normal, you are excited!! I was buying things over the years and so excited long before I even planned on having kids. I hope it all works out well for you and you are holding a healthy bundle in your arms in the future. It all just means you are ready more than ever.
