Hernia after pregnancy

Hernia after pregnancy

Has anyone had a hernia after pregnancy?
I have diastasis recti and have since my first born, each pregnancy it has gotten slightly worse. I have just had a c section for my 3rd and last baby a week ago and now have a hernia below the belly button through those separated muscles.
I know surgery is the only way to truly correct the issue. How soon will they let me have the surgery after a c section and what is the recovery etc like?
I really want to have the surgery asap while my daughter is in NICU.

I had a hernia after my second.
I had a vaginal birth so I'm not sure how different that is, however my doctor really didn't want me to have it done til I was 6 to 12 months pp. Ended up having it done when my baby was about 7 months old.

Recovery: I had keyhole surgery which was day surgery at my hospital. Meaning I got sent on my way an hour and a half post op lol. I ended up with a massive infection and in the ER 3 days later.
Pain wise, compared to a csection, breezy. After my infection passed I felt a bit sore and bruised for around a week but I had next to no strength in my core muscles for at least 6 weeks. You've also got to keep in mind, there's no lifting anything for at least 6 weeks, no strenuous exercise etc and just generally taking it easy.
