Good evening mummies :)
So I have a dear friend who is struggling big time for answers as to what is causing her son to have extreme melt downs and not being able to cope with life. They have diagnosed him with adhd, but she believes it is more.
Apart from being a shoulder to cry on and reminder that she is doing a wonderful job, I'm wondering if anyone knows of any support groups on Facebook etc? That I can send her way that might be able to give her the support she needs. Or just any general advice I can give her.
Please note she is doing everything possible to find the cause of the behaviour and working with her son's school, doctors and counsellers.
thanks

Depending on age I found a specific playgroup excellent help.
If you check the “Austism handbook” (can buy at good book stores) they have a list of great supports across Australia.
I am in the same boat with a girlfriend, who's son is not only ADHD, but autistic and epileptic. Your friend is probably already part of a specialised group but hasn't told you about it. Sometimes friends don't disclose everything when they are in troubled times.
Just be there for your friend. Open your door day or night so you can listen, be a shoulder to cry on, be a place where she can chill out or just cry her heart out without judgement. Check in with her maybe 2-3 times a week with a quick text saying "just thinking of you. No need to reply usless you need me" She will appreciate it more than silence..
