I have been looking at doing the individual support course for home and community can anyone that’s done it tell me what’s involved and is it easy to find a job helping the aged people in their homes and surroundings

Depends what level you're studying at, ie Cert III or IV, that will determine what's involved.
Aged care workers arecin high demand so it shouldn't be too difficult to get work once you've finished the course.
Just doing cert III
I've done certificate 3 in individual support. You'll most likely be assigned work placement in an aged care facility, which will most likely end in being offered some employment!
They are desperate for carers in aged care facilities because it's less desirable work quite frankly due to funding and being short staffed almost always. If you get your cert 3, you'll get work in a nursing home without a doubt.
Everyone wants to do the in home support where you go help lovely clients in their homes and go about their day to day lives, the hours are better (particularly if you're keen for school hours), the conditions (generally speaking) are better and it's less confronting and full on, so these jobs tend to fill more quickly but they are out there.
