Working from home - typist

I have recently resigned from my position at work and would love to be able to work from home. I live in a small rural town with bigger townships half an hour in each direction and I find I just struggle with after school activities and making it to special events at the school so working from home would be my ideal option - for now.

I have 10 years experience in administration etc and would happily type all day. Has anyone been a typist working from home? Where do I start? Where do I look?
