Hi there,
I’m looking to start working again after five years off. In this time I’ve had two kids and have been a stay at home mum.
I’m just wondering what everyone suggests I use as references on my resume. I will contact my previous boss to see how she feels about me using her, but aside from her I don’t know who else to put. Any work I had before my last job I feel was too long ago to use.
I haven’t done any volunteer work in this time, and I don’t really have any community members I could use.
Any suggestions would be awesome, I’m quite nervous about looking for work without suitable references.
Thanks!

Contact a recruitment agency, see if they have any temping jobs?
This can get you a foot in the door, potentially a permanent role or recent references if you need them.
Ask the employer who they would accept. If they accept character references, ask a friend who's willing to answer questions and anyone who can vouch for your character.
If need be, organize getting police checks and documents together and do contact former work places. If you still friendly and keep in touch through social media then that's somewhat helpful.
Like the lady above said, an employment agency might be beneficial.
