Hello everyone!
I have a few questions regarding primary school. I have a boy that will be starting next year and I have no idea where to start. With this whole covid 19 going on I know tours won't be available. So I'm wondering when do you actually enroll them? Do you just call up for a school information pack? What are the best questions to ask prior to deciding which school? We will be zoned so I know which schools he would be able to attend in our area so that's not a problem. He does go to daycare usually for the kinder program but not while covid 19 is going on. So do daycares usually send out information also? If so, when do they normally do that? I've read some parents have enrolled their children already and I haven't even started yet so I'm worried I should be doing it asap.
Sorry for all the questions, I have no clue.
Any other information I should know would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks heaps.

Enroll and most likely do a tour. If you don’t ask, go to the school or email you’ll never have your questions answered
Do you have an idea which school in your zone you're leaning towards?
I only have one school in my zone, so that was simple for us. I just went and collected the enrolment forms and that was that, we then had an orientation/introduction day closer to the end of the year in which we meet their teacher and so on. Our school offered a pre kinder program (kinder is the equivalent of prep in my state) for a morning each week. I know our school has postponed that also until later this year.
My advice if you have absolutely no idea where to start is to call all the schools in your zone and ask if they can email you their school information pack (all schools should have something along those lines) and also ask them what the process will look like this year given the circumstances.
Best of luck!
Just ring the schools and ask them what they would like.
There will be kids who won’t be enrolling right up until the last minute so don’t panic.
School tours may still happen just later in the year.
I know one of our local schools is doing an online open day. Check if yours are.
Don't stress about it now. Public schools will do itater in the year, October time. If you have a school in mind call them and ask as they most likely don't want people visiting right now.
