We have been living in a dry remote town for over 10 years and are wanting "green change".
If you could live anywhere (green) in Australia, where would you go?
Our ideal place would:
- Not be a major city, but would be within 400km of a major airport
- Have great public schools
- Somewhere where you wouldn't fear going out at night to dinner or movies (current town you'd come back to find your car broken into or trashed)
- Generally have great work opportunities (pretend this question was asked pre-COVID)
- Have a great sense of community spirit
- Have a wide range of outdoor activities (playgrounds, places to camp, places to swim)
Thank you :)

I live on the outskirts of Hobart, I'd say it ticks all your boxes.
I've visited Hobart and it is wonderful. I'd love to live there.
Wodonga!
I have heard of this place before but know nothing about it. Do you live there? Can you give more info about it?
Port Lincoln. Or anywhere on the lower Eyre peninsula
Kuranda cairns or northern Nsw it's very pretty in there, any of those towns are close to gold coast airport.
I live on the Mornington Peninsula, about 60km from Melbourne and it ticks all of these boxes. Gorgeous and green (and blue, as it's right on the water) with excellent schools, there are plenty of choices in places to live, good employment opportunities and lots of young families and lots of retirees also. It feels very safe, but it's close enough to the city that you can go in for the day, or a few nights, for events such as concerts and sport.
Healesville or Warburton
I don't live there but definitely anywhere near there. Warburton is stunning š
Iām sorry but I just want to know where the hell you live that you would get your car trashed just going out for the night. Wow.
Potentially Townsville.
Inala? Woodridge? Logan?
Alice Springs :(
