Hi all. No hate please.
I have a trip planned into QLD for 11th July. To visit my parents for 1 x week. Staying at their house.
We just normally stay there and go out and about. I am going with husband and child. No trips to attractions. Prob go to shops up there, parks, dinner out. Flights were booked in Jan.
So now with the COVID and the restrictions in QLD.
If we arrive there will we denied entry?
Will they let us out of the airport if it is a visit to the parents?
Will they put us on the next flight home?
Has anyone flown into QLD recently and can share what happens at the airport?

I would have rescheduled ages ago. Do you still have time to do that?
Apparently borders are opening. They have a planned date as long as nothing changes.
Planned date to reopen is 10th July. This new breakout in vic may affect that. They will make a decision at end of this month.
While borders are closed, if you fly in it's a 2 week hotel stay, which they are stopping paying for and going to start billing you $3000 for the pleasure.
I am flying in from Melb. Not overseas.
Do we need to stay 2 x weeks in a hotel in you fly from within Australia into QLD?
May have time to get an airline credit.
Just thought it would ease up by now. And now VIC have a spike in cases and some restrictions out back on us.
If you a travelling from vic I’d cancel my trip. I would not risk it.
If you travelled to SA at the moment we would make you quarantine in a hotel for 14 days. You wouldn’t even be able to see your relatives.
Really. They make you quarantine if you're from within Aus?
I thought that was only for people returning from overseas.
For anyone from Victoria 14 days at own expense in a quarantine hotel.

Most states are making everyone quarantine, even their own people who have to leave the state. I would see about getting a credit and rebook when restrictions have eased
Yes they make you quarantine unless you have applied successfully for an exemption. SA has just cancelled quarantine for WA, NT, TAS, and Queensland, this week. So anyone from NSW and Victoria still has to quarantine. BTW the police do check that you are doing what you are supposed to be doing.
There were exceptions on the hotel quarantine (you had to prove you had a safe place to quarantine that wouldn’t put others at risk).
Even victoria’s premier had stated that victorians should be staying in victoria at the moment.
Yes that's the point of closing the borders. If the border is closed, and you're coming from outside then you'll need to quarantine. The only thing that will change that is When borders are opened.
It could also vary on where you are travelling from.
We are from qld and not letting people in especially from nsw and vic where cases are still not good
As far as I know from a friends experience you can get a permit to travel into and out of Queensland maybe look into it although all going well the border will be opening on July 10.
Anybody can leave. The permit is to reenter, only for certain people.
Yeah my dad was FIFO and the mine workers got exemptions, NT to QLD.
You have to have an excellent reason to get an expedition. A holiday would not qualify. You would need to be travelling for work, travelling for essential surgery, have a relative who needs urgent care.
You’d also need to keep an eye on quarantine rules in Victoria, as some states make you quarantine for 14 days when you return home. Sounds like a lot of effort and a lot of time off work.
As of this week.. you will needvtobisolate in a hotel for 14 days at your own expense
From this week. All victorians (even ones from non hotspot areas) will need to isolate in a hotel room paid for by yourself as qld arent paying anymore.
Id reschedule asap!
