My 1 year old has started biting the crib rails.
I've looked online and have come accross crib rail covers that come in rubber and material.
My question is, has anyone bought these covers? Would you recommend them?
Or does anyone have ideas on an alternative other than crib covers?

I highly recomend the covers! They are a thick rubber, like teething rings, not too hard not too soft. I didn't find them until I had my second child. My daughter would constantly chew on the side of the crib, you would have thought I kept a dog in there, not a child.
