I have just hit 100kgs. I’m so so disappointed in myself! I’m disgusted! How the bloody hell do you lose weight when you have a total addiction to junk, particularly chocolate? And if you go without you go INSANE and your brain just feels like it will blow up if you don’t get it? I have ZERO will power. I want to lose weight so so bad but I just can’t do it!!! Please help

So look at your life, and figure out what it is that has you needing junk every day. Are you tired, exhausted? Stressed, do you put yourself first? Can you take the time to exercise, go out for walks, take the time to plan and make nice and healthy meals and snacks, because when you start changing things, you will stop wanting to undo it all by feeding your face with junk. And you might go to sleep earlier. Its changing habits, small steps.
So I'm a bit like you. Hit just over 100kg and feel disgusting. Sugar is my addiction. I don't smoke or drink, but fuck, sugar? I'm done for.
So in the last 2 weeks I have tried intermittent fasting. Built up to 18:6. Started with finishing dinner/supper etc by 7pm and that's it. Nothing till like 7am. Then I started to extend and now doing 18hrs. I honestly feel so much better! I haven't weighed myself but I FEEL better. I have started walking me and doing a bit of yoga. I have started preparing my own dinners to make sure I'm I've always got something healthy to eat.
I'm going to take it slowly and get it done properly. I'm going to break my bad habits.
i lost 20kgs in 12mths by doing intermittent fasting,no gym, no diets- it is hard at first, you get REALLY hungry in the beginning but it doesn't take too long for your body to adapt to the time changes. I can go long periods without being hungry, where as before i was hungry all the time. I cut back on soft drinks and sweets but honestly nothing else changed much and i still enjoy treats but my whole body has adapted to less sugar now so i dont crave it like i once used to. It may not be what ends up working best for you but it is a really good place to start.
I find I enjoy dark chocolate more and need less, one or two nice squares a night is plenty and I don’t gorge. But beyond switching out different treats I also find when my mental health is in the toilet I want more crappy food and the more crappy food I eat the worse I feel and it’s an awful cycle to pull yourself out of. I would suggest find some way to keep accountable maybe that’s some form of health professional, I find naturopaths better for diet related issues or maybe you would be more comfortable with a personal trainer but find some way that helps to keep you on track. Learning how to love yourself more is huge in being able to take care of yourself in all the small ways the more you love yourself the less you self sabotage! I really hope you find what works for you and remember to treat yourself kindly as you work this out!

This was me 5 years ago. I was sitting at 99.9kg. Night time snacking on junk food.
I'm now 53kg and I managed to sustain my weight during a pregnancy with minimal gain (only 10kg weight gain and lost within a month of birth).
For me, I needed to change my whole mindset, I had depression and didn't realise until a doctor pointed it out. Once I started working on my depression, I became alot more motivated and began eating right and exercising, the weight just melted off me.
I also used to do things such as brush my teeth after dinner so I wouldn't snack (food tastes horrible after brushing with a strong mint toothpaste!) That helped break the actual habit of snacking at night.
I brought cheap gym equipment for home so I didn't have to join a gym, not much just a second hand step machine from salvos, $10 exercise ball from the reject shop and a $35 exercise bike from kmart, that way I could exercise from home, I also used playtime with my baby to do exercising... Who needs weight lift training when you can play up/down with baby!
And Google, I googled all types of exercises to do at home.
I just walk now as I'm just maintaining weight and fitness I find if I exercise too much now I lose way too much weight, I dropped to 49kg last year because I was walking too much lol
You need to make a commitment to a lifestyle change. The first few weeks are the hardest but once you are feeling better and starting to see changes in your body you will be more motivated and things get easier. Try the app Centr for workouts. Do the six week program called Centr 6 on the app and you will be amazed at how much your body can change in six weeks! Again, the first couple of weeks will be tough but it gets so much easier as the weeks go on. I find exercising motivates me not to ruin it and eat junk. Good luck!
