Palm Cove/Cairns Holidays with Kids

Hi All

We’re in the process of planning of group holiday to Palm Cove/Cairns later in the year. Will be a few families & children to entertain.
To any locals or other travellers, are there any places/tours you recommend we do?

Love to hear some ideas to make this a memorable holiday!

The Pullman at Palm Cove was amazing, a short walk to the main street and right on the water. You'll want to spend a few days at the resort just relaxing in the lagoon pools.
If you want to do any beach swimming google when stinger season is over, there are stinger nets in some places. I don't know how successful they are.
Be aware you're in a completely different world to what you may be used to, watch for crabs, snakes, crocs etc.
Book the Kuranda steam train well in advance, we missed out as our trip was a late minute "dammit, let's go". We did hit the markets until they closed. There are walking tracks littered along the way if you wanted to burn some energy.
Definitely spend some time at Paronella Park, get there early enough to have a look during the day and stay until after dark for a night tour. Make sure your phone is charged up for photos.
Head down Tully Gorge way to Alligators Nest and on the drive back go through Mission Beach and from there to Bingil Bay. It's a beautiful drive through rainforest and at times you'll have forest on the left and water on the right as you hug the coastline. There's a little cafe at Bingil Bay that does a good burger.
Take a drive out to some of the lookouts over the Atherton Tablelands. There's a 17km (approx) waterfall circuit we didn't do that I'll be back for.
We also missed the skywalk and an island tour due to weather, and Port Douglas due to time so I'll definitely be back to see those.

Hartleys croc farm, Kuranda railway/ cable car, green island, Milla Milla falls and all the other ones in the Atherton tablelands, there are a few coffee farms and nerada tea out there too. The zoo is good too. All of this should come up if u Google cairns area tourist attractions.
