How do I deal with the fact that I might not ever be a mum?

Hi

Those of you that have seen/still see a gyno to get your eggs checked for fertility what’s the procedure involved? I need to get one but not sure what they will do. First time ever and I’m scared lol also what prenatal should I take? I’ve heard elevit & Blackmores are best..

Have had one high dose of radiation and spoken to my oncologist & he has said that won’t affect anything and that I can have kids. I would love to carry my baby and rather not have a surrogate. I’ve fallen pregnant in the past but miscarriaged & had a couple abortions (as much as I hate them I had no choice)

So far
- I’ve had a blood test & all came back normal.
- Been using no contraception as I’m not allowed (high risk due to medical condition)

I can't help you on the other stuff, but I don't believe with a balanced diet that prenatal vitamins are required. Folate supplements for sure, keep an eye on vitamin d as it is a common deficiency. The rest of it, eat well, get exercise and sunshine where possible.

I’m on keto diet & would love to take prenatal’s to give me a piece of mind that I’ve done everything I can to try lol might sounds silly but to me it makes sense 😂

Which is fine but if/when you actually fall pregnant you may find them difficult to stomach or impossible to take. I had no morning sickness but could not get those Elevit down to save myself, was horribly anxious about it and my doctor told me to focus on folate and the rest of it was a recipe for expensive urine so...

Each to their own but they dont help you conceive. Adding folate and if you're keto maybe look into B vitamins if you're grain free.

I should have added. I’ve been trying for over a year with no luck, I’ve had the hormone test done. I’ve got an appointment booked in with a gyno on jan 29th so hoping it’s just put down to stress 🤞🏼

How long have you been TTC? If under 35 and TTC for 12 months or over 35 and TTC for 6 months, I would see a fertility specialist. They will run more tests and have more options for you. You may need a little help (ovulation timing or meds to help you ovulate) or extensive help (IUI or IVF).

There are definitely more tests that can be done. A blood test can check your Amh or your egg reserve. You can have your tubes flushed with a dye to check for blockages and you can have a laparoscopy done to check your uterus for any issues like Endometriosis.

Even if you have had test before, your fertility can change quickly and I would be seeing a FS and getting more testing done, if you have been TTC for a while.

With prenatal vitamins Elevit has more iron and some women find it too harsh. The blackmores prenatals are good and seem to be the next choice if elevit doesnt agree with with. Pick one brand and give them a go.
