Hi mummas, wanting to hear from those that have experienced similar
I was previously on the pill however at the end of September last year I switched to the rod/Implanon. It was put in on the second day of my cycle and that was the last period I had. Everything was fine and I wasn't stressed about the no periods as I knew this was a side effect. I was a little moody and hormonal in the first 2 months but after speaking with my GP I was told this is also a normal side effect.
Now the last couple of weeks I've experienced the following symptoms: nausea and vomiting, with no other sickness or obvious reasons such as stomach bug and nothing could settle it either, reflux, breast soreness, tenderness and they've grown in size, and a lot of discharge. All of these things I've only ever experienced during my two pregnancies and never any other time.
After 2 home tests done at different times and a week and a half apart came back negative, I went to my GP and told them everything. They sent me for a blood test and that came back today as negative.
My GP did say if I wanted absolute certainty he was happy to give a referral for an ultrasound. He also said my symptoms could very well just be the side effects from the birth control.
I'm at a loss and feel like I'm going crazy. On one hand I feel that if it's all showing negative and given I'm on what is typically considered a highly effective birth control, then I should trust the results. But I also feel that after two pregnancies, I should be in tune with my body enough to know if I am or not.
Anyone gone through this before?

Implanon is pretty notorious for mimicking pregnancy and menopause symptoms. My symptoms have always been tolerable so I've pushed on with my implanon but I can see why some people have hated it and had it removed because of more severe symptoms like yours.
You're in tune with your body enough to know these symptoms aren't normal for you, get it thoroughly checked out for peace of mind.
This happened to me sore breasts, discharge, moody I had to get it taken out.
I had to get mine taken out for this reason. I would never recommend it to anyone.
I would never recommended the rod to anyone after my experience. It caused the ovulation cysts to be unable to burst when meant to and instead grow to 6-7cm swelling the ovary and causing enormous pain before bursting. A side effect that not many doctors tell you about but when it happens oh yes thats because of the implanon.
I was prone to cysts anyway so it never should have been suggested for me. When the cysts burst i would be on my knees feeling like I was in labour.
My first symptoms were just like yours. I would definitely get that ultrasound and make sure they check your ovaries just in case.
