I am currently pregnant with bub number 3. My eldest is my husband's double. They could be twins. My youngest (soon to be middle) looks more like me.
As we know pregnancy is mostly 9 months worth of wondering and daydreaming about what bub looks like so its had me paying particular attention to all the families Ive encountered in the last few months plus all my friends and families and I've noticed that there's almost always a pattern. I've noticed that the eldest child almost always looks like their dad.... especially if they are girls. The younger ones often are a mixture of mum and dad or look like mum.
So am I crazy or is this an actual thing?
I'm curious to hear what "pattern" your children have come out like. Does your families looks support this theory or have you experienced a different mixture of mum and dad's features?

All my girls look exactly like me. All my boys look exactly like their dad or their Uncles . 🤣. In my family it's boys with the boys and girls with the girls .
My 17 year old son (only child) looks a lot like me. Our year 7 photos are so very similar (I had short hair). I am olive skinned and dark hair and so is our son. Hubby is fair skinned and a lite ginger. He did get hubby’s long eyelashes and temperament though.
My kids are a good mix of both.
We have one, he could be dads spare parts they're that alike.
I've actually been asked if my oldest 2 kids are biologically my husband's because they don't really look like either of us (which is both hilarious and offensive).
Hubby is aboriginal and I have dark features, kids are fair skinned and blonde. I'm guessing they got my family's Irish/Scottish genes.
My youngest is my husband's clone lol.
Yeah definitely my pattern.
My oldest girl looked so much like her dad for the first few years that people didn't think I was her mum.
Then the second one, a boy, came out looking so much like me and my side of the family my husband very politely asked for reassurance that he was indeed his father 🥴
A bit unsure on my third depending the day of the week depends on which siblings she resembles more.
I’m the eldest and look like my dad, but have my mum’s hair, number 2 looks like nobody and number 3 looks like an auntie. We never get noticed as sisters, even when we were in school.
My son looks like a combo of myself and his dad.
I'm a Dad/Mum mix - people say they see both of my parents equally in me (I'm the oldest). My younger sisters are both more my mum's side of the family. My daughter (one and only) is a clone of my middle sister, neither hubby nor I really got a look in 🤣
My stepson is also equally my husband and his ex-wife.
My son, more like me. My daughter, more like my husband.
First like dad second like mum.
Is there some theory that the first babies look like dad so he knows its his and he doesnt shun it from the pack, from back in caveman times.
There’s an old wives tale that says something about the first born looking like the father the prove paternity.
I have 3 to one man and 2 to another. The fathers are polar opposite in looks but there’s no mistaking them all as siblings - apparently my genes reign supreme. Lol.
No 1 is a spitter for his father and no4 is his clone. No2 is a clone for my brother and no 5 is same again.
My oldest looks like me. My youngest doesn't look like either of us. I've even been questioned if she's mine.
3 boys and I didn't get a look in on any of them. They are their Dad all over!!
I have 3 sons. Our eldest looks like Dad, middle son looks like me and our youngest son is a mix of both of his brothers 🤗 depending on which angle you catch our youngest depends on which brother he’s a double for 🤗
Oldest is a girl and is a mix, I thought she looked more like me but as her younger girl cousin on her dad's side gets older she looks like she could be her double. Middle is a boy and is his dad all over. Youngest is a girl and looks exactly like me 😊
